Yorkshire Wensleydale cheese is registered with Protected Geographical Indication (PGI). It has qualities that have been shaped by the geographical environment in which it has been processed. To preserve the distinctive qualities of the cheese, its production must take place within the defined geographical Wensleydale area. Wensleydale Creamery is the only producer of Yorkshire Wensleydale cheese.
